- Must be a current, permanent FBI employee
- Must have (or be able to obtain) a valid driver's license

- Provides support on issues relating to a wide range of clerical and technical management and program related matters that impact the analytical workforce.
- Performs a variety of functions to assist higher-level employees performing analysis functions. Serves a key clerical and technical assistant in support of the organizational functions.
- Creates and maintains appropriate data management systems for management studies and program evaluations conducted within the organization. This includes maintaining appropriate computer records in standard database software packages. Routinely extracts specific information from records.
- Assists with the preparation of final reports to include editing for obvious omissions or errors, preparing appropriate charts and graphs, and distributing copies to designated personnel.
- Proofreads reports and other documents for correct information, proper reporting formats, and compliance with any established administrative or clerical requirements.
- Processes time and attendance matters; maintains all administrative records; formats and types a variety of documents and correspondence; monitors inventory and orders supplies; updates supervisors calendar; schedules meetings; reviews incoming mail, personally completes or forwards to appropriate staff member(s); answers telephones; escorts visitors.

GS-7: Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS 6 grade level.
Specialized Experience is:
- Utilized computer and/or other automated systems to enter, maintain, and retrieve information: compile reports and produce chars/graphs, etc. Provides clerical and/or technical assistance in support of organization functions.
- Gathered, evaluated and compiled data from readily available sources.
- Performed routine analysis functions.
- Compiled routine reports, documents and correspondence using correct grammar and format.
- Orally relayed and presented information.
GS-8: Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS 7 grade level.
Specialized Experience is:
- Utilized computer and/or other automated systems to enter, maintain, and retrieve information; compile reports; produce charts/graphs; and monitor the status of projects.
- Provided clerical and/or technical assistance in support of organization functions.
- Gathered, evaluated and compiled data from available sources, reviewed and cross-checked information for accuracy.
- Performed a variety of analysis functions.
- Compiled reports, documents and correspondence using correct grammar and format.
- Communicated orally to gather and convey information and make presentations.
Education may not be substituted for specialized experience for these grade levels

- A Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) is a 90-day written developmental plan for an employee whose performance on one or more critical elements is rated "Unacceptable."
- A Letter of Requirement (LOR) is issued when a supervisor identifies leave abuse and/or when frequent absences negatively impact operations of an office.
- Relocation expenses will be borne by the selectee, except FBI employees returning from LEGAT assignment. Employees returning from LEGAT assignments must advise the Staffing Unit, Administrative Unit, and the international Operations Unit of their application to apply.
- Candidates receiving a transfer of physical location, whether at the expense of the FBI or not, will be required to complete a one year commitment to the assignment, prior to moving to a new position at the FBI. The 12-month waiting period begins the day an employee reports for duty at the new location.
- Memorandum of Understanding: Work performed outside assigned duties (that would not normally be documented on a SF-50, i. e., back-up duties), has to be documented in detail by an immediate supervisor in order to receive full credit for amount of time worked in that position. If no documentation is furnished no credit will be given for time worked in that position. The following notations must be specified in the documentation (Memorandum of Understanding):
- Percent of time worked in the particular position (cannot conflict with main duties)
- The month/year work began
- Frequency worked (i.e., daily, monthly, etc.)
- Specific duties performed
