The mission of the FBI is to protect the American People and uphold the Constitution of the United States.
- Resolves complex processing issues and error conditions requiring complex processing software changes.
- Reviews daily operational needs to detect, diagnose, and resolve significant problems or error conditions relating to the wide area network and that which occur as a result of equipment malfunctions or incompatibility of application software.
- Monitors compliance with security provisions to guarantee data integrity and guard against unauthorized access to ADP information.
- Is responsible for planning and modifying or developing complex systems involving non-standard Bureau operating systems or those involving complex integrated systems.
- Conducts configuration management of systems.
- Works directly with customers to customize services to meet specific customer requirements.
Qualifications and Evaluations

Specialized Experience (SE):
GS-9: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
- Provided technical support and assistance to other office employees in using software developed locally or provided to an office as part of the automation program
- Participated in testing and debugging various aspects of online systems and programs, providing feedback concerning possible modifications or improvements
GS-11: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
- Provided advice and/or guidance to various levels of personnel regarding administrative and technical matters related to IT programs and/or services.
- Configured, installed, repaired, and/or maintained computer networks; desktops; and mainframe operating systems.
- Diagnosed and resolved system problems by analyzing problems and issues.
- Worked with clients and customers to assess their needs; provided assistance; resolved problems; and provided quality products and services.
- Conveyed information clearly and concisely orally and in written format.
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the above requirements provided you can show foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.
All degrees must be from an accredited college or university. Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:
GS-9: Applicant must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
GS-11: Applicant must have a Ph.D. OR equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related.

What to Expect Next
