    Who we are - The Product Management Center of Excellence team's mission is to establish a Product Mindset culture and drive ongoing maturity of the Product Management discipline within Fannie Mae. Our team is made up of professionals with a unique combination of extensive, hands-on product management experience as well the desire and practical skills to help others continuously evolve the understanding and application of effective product management.

    THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE
    The Product Management COE - Consulting - Advisor role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:
    As a valued contributor to our team, you will advise with management on consulting best practices and recommendations for teams across the organization.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct end-to-end consulting engagements with partner teams, including:
      • Conduct discovery using a variety of methods to identify critical needs around product management maturity
      • Summarize and present insights from discovery process to partner leadership
      • Generate recommended engagement plan with specific actions and goals that address the most important product management needs of the partner
      • Serve as an embedded consultant to the partner team, including facilitation of working sessions to help partner team establish a product mindset and apply key product management practices
      • Coach partner team through the creation of product deliverables as part of putting a product mindset into practice (e.g., vision, roadmap, objectives & metrics, etc.)
      • Provide recurring readouts to partner leadership on engagement progress
      • Identify opportunities to showcase successes from the engagement to broad audiences across the enterprise
    • Partner with leadership from technology, operations and other non-traditional product functions within the organization to support adoption of a product mindset
    • Build strong relationships by regularly engaging partners and stakeholders
    • Help instill a comprehensive product management mindset and guide product managers to more effectively utilize and execute on product management best practices, tools, resources, and skills to drive demonstrable and sustainable results for their products
    • Develop engagement resources such as playbooks and templates to help drive increased efficiency and impactfulness of partner engagements
    • Collaborate with other PM CoE members to ensure ongoing alignment to team strategy and effective incorporation of our other products and offerings into the partner engagement
    • Seek out new engagement opportunities across the enterprise

    Qualifications

    THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

    Minimum Required Experiences and Skills

    • 6+ years of hands-on experience as a product manager, with demonstrated command of all aspects of a comprehensive product management discipline and across multiple phases of a product's lifecycle
    • 2+ years in consulting and solution-based professional services, ideally supporting clients in adoption of product management skills and practices
    • Deep understanding of the comprehensive discipline of product management and how it relates to and differs from common organizational and development methodologies such as SAFe, Agile, Lean, etc.
    • Demonstrated ability to influence and manage relationships across various functions respectfully and cooperatively to drive towards a common goal
    • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and executive presence; particularly skilled in presenting information and/or ideas to an audience in a way that is engaging and easy to understand
    • Experience preparing presentations for and presenting to senior stakeholders & executive audiences
    • Experience analyzing and decomposing complex problems into digestible solutions
    • Experience in stakeholder management, integrating voice of customer and feedback loops
    • Experience planning and facilitating workshops including retrospectives and structured problem-solving
    • Exhibits good business judgment in assessing which creative ideas/suggestions will work
    • A team player with a collaborative working style and a willingness to contribute to all aspects of team's work product
    • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to manage/engage senior leaders and build & nurture relationships

    Desired Experiences (a plus, but not required)

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent
    • Experience working with organizations that are new to product management principles and practices
    • Experience in financial services (FinTech, Mortgage industry)
    • Experienced using product management tools such as Craft.io, Aha, or others
    • Familiar with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
    • Experience in platform and data products
    • Experience developing and conducting training, particularly related to product management
