VP, People Operations

Facebook is seeking to hire a Vice President, People Operations to lead the global People Operations teams focused on delivery of all People services, privacy, process, systems, project management, compliance, contingent workforce and vendor management. This new leadership role on our People team will be responsible for setting long-term strategy and defining our approach to data driven decision making for delivery of all our Human Resources functions. We are looking for a highly experienced visionary who can scale our existing functions to align to Facebook’s growth and our overall mission of giving people the tools to build community and connect the world.
As a leader reporting directly to our VP, HR, this role will bring thought leadership, deep insights and vast experience in people operations and solution delivery while partnering successfully with other leaders such as the VP Global Recruiting, VP of People Analytics and VP of Life@, Compensation, Benefits and Mobility.
The ideal candidate will be highly strategic and have a successful and progressive leadership track record in reputable companies with a focus on scalability. This position will be located in our Menlo Park, California or Austin, Texas office.


  • Vision & Strategy
    • Construct and co-create the evolving vision of HR Delivery as a strategic partner and efficiency-maximizing function
    • Influence global people operations and systems road-mapping to support long-term service delivery goals
  • Innovation & Execution
    • Innovate and react to changing business and market realities and demonstrate openness and flexibility to client needs and request
    • Implement process improvements, technology, training requirements, etc. that will improve the employee experience with HR services
    • Lead the team in formulating SLAs, escalation standards, and guidelines with a focus on operational accuracy and effectiveness
    • Proactively identify and create operational efficiencies through centralized administration, outsourcing, and globalization of processes
    • Define and establish processes and procedures for HR Service Delivery teams and partner with global leads to build scalable and compliant processes with a focus on continuous improvement
    • Build a metrics driven organization through evolved reporting, dashboards, and tracking channels to provide actionable insight on service delivery
    • Elevate the employee experience through advancing current support tools to provide accurate data that captures actionable “Voice of the Customer” concerns
    • Develop/review relevant policies and procedures related to the HR Service Delivery functions and support all audits across the operations team (SOX, Internal Audit, etc.)
  • Team Leadership & Partnerships
    • Effectively lead the leaders of People Operation’s functional areas to ensure engagement and effectiveness of direct reports and team
    • Work with business leaders and People team leadership across Europe & Middle East, Asia Pacific, and the Americas regions to develop the Service Delivery roadmap, identifying gray areas and/or new opportunities for teams to support the regions
    • Lead and manage the HR Service Delivery teams responsible for operations for employee services and the E2E lifecycle, supporting key partner teams - Employee Relations, HRBPs, Benefits, Legal, Recruiting, IT, and Global Mobility
  • 15+ years of experience in a HR/People Operations environment with knowledge of customer service tools, systems, and processes
  • Bachelors' degree in Human Resources Management or a related field
  • Experience influencing all levels of leadership and driving industry transforming practices which includes partnership experience
  • Experience leading, motivating and mentoring a team to execute strategies with a focus on career development and growth for people on the team
  • Experience launching or driving implementations requiring change management and communication
  • Systems thinker with a “product manager mindset” with experience in HR systems
  • Experience with CRM or HRIS system implementations and data migrations
  • Process and project management experience. Demonstrated experience leading global projects E2E with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience leading other multi-discipline company-wide functions including Contingent Workforce, HR Compliance, Learning Operations, HRIS, Intranet (People Portal), and Vendor Management functions
  • Experience leading multiple specialty areas of HR Operations and partnering directly with centers of expertise teams in Benefits, Compliance, Global Mobility, Leaves, Accommodations, and Employee Relations
  • Ability to scale/grow global service teams and services through vendors. Strong vendor management experience
  • Experience working for a fast growing public company with a focus on HR Operations and HRBP/COE
  • Experience with Global Business Services and either leading or building Global Business Services
