UX Researcher, Ads (Sales and Support Interfaces)

As Facebook becomes the world's largest, most sophisticated advertising platform - the go-to spot to promote a business - we're working to create meaningful connections between advertisers and potential customers. We're building effective, high-scale sales and support channels by creating products that advertisers find valuable and reliable, and we're looking for a seasoned researcher to help us do this even better!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create research roadmaps to deliver on the team's goals, and business objectives, and identify future opportunities
  • Work across multiple researchers to drive cohesion across roadmaps
  • Design and execute generative and evaluative research to support the objectives of the business, and translate those research findings into actionable insights for the team and the org
  • Employ creative and innovative research methods to understand people and their needs
  • Be the expert on our customers and users, and represent their voice to internal teams
  • Utilize facilitative leadership to collaborate with other disciplines (Engineering, Product Management, Product design, Data Science, Product Marketing, etc.), teams, and organizations
  • Communicate effectively and in an engaging manner to drive action and inspire new ideas
  • Evangelize insights within your team, across teams, and outside the org where appropriate
  • Coach and mentor others
  • Contribute to improve the broader research community
  • Travel to conduct research
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's or PhD in Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors Psychology, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in applied product research and 3+ years of experience with user experiences, such as enterprise or ads
  • Knowledge of methodologies, both qualitative and quantitative methods, including different research methodologies and how to apply them
  • Proven experience of leading strategic research and setting a customer-back vision for experiences, then influencing teams to take action and impacting the business
  • Communication and story-telling experience
  • Experience with user-centered design best practices
  • Experience in working collaboratively with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Product Design, Data Science/Analytics, and Marketing and involving them in the research process
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in domains of advertising, sales or support
