Technical Program Manager, AI Hardware Acceleration

Facebook is seeking a Technical Program Manager with hardware/software co-design experience. The Hardware Technical Program Manager (TPM) will lead cross-functional and multi-site teams on evaluating various hardware solutions to accelerate specific software workloads. Facebook's Infrastructure Engineering organization is responsible for the growth, management and 24x7 upkeep of all Facebook's products and services. This is a full-time position based in our main office in Menlo Park and will report to the Group Technical Program Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage cross-functional infrastructure projects in a matrix organization covering a range of areas (Data center, Network, Hardware Systems, Infrastructure Engineering, Software Engineering, Capacity Management)
  • Drive and manage the development of hardware accelerators and their subsystems from concept to production with suppliers, partners, and internal software and hardware teams
  • Develop and manage overall program requirements, schedules and deliverables with engineering teams, partners, and stakeholders
  • Deliver hardware acceleration solutions including but not limited to ASIC, FPGA, GPU, and other coprocessors
  • Engage in product management in collaboration with Engineering counterparts to define product roadmaps
  • Provide hands-on program management during initial concept, analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post-implementation phases
  • Drive internal process improvements across multiple teams and functions
  • Work with the software, hardware, and architecture teams to understand and identify product requirements, risks, constraints, and mitigation strategies
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering or other equivalent experience
  • 4+ years experience of Program or Product management with technical leadership in similar field
  • 6+ years of experience with computer architecture and hardware design
  • Organizational and coordination experience along with multi-tasking experience
  • Experience with machine learning training or inference software
  • Experience managing from technical details to big picture
  • Cross-functional leadership and communication experience
  • Experience with semi-conductor technology and manufacturing processes
  • Interpersonal experience, including relationship building and collaboration within a cross-functional team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working with ODMs and other vendors
  • Experience with data center architecture and deployment
  • Web or Internet start-up environment and technical infrastructure management experience
  • Software knowledge with compilers
