Technical Operations Systems Engineer

The ideal candidate will be an experienced system engineer who has a passion for technology, a solid understanding of corporate IT processes, systems and problem-solving. The candidate will work as part of a global team, be responsible for creating new processes, and maintaining existing, as well as partner with the global team to provide 24X7 technology support to the global security systems & technology organization. This is a cross-functional role that partners closely with multiple Global Security teams, and Facebook internal teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build a new program to design, engineer, and manage complex systems, assessing technology issues within the suite of products supported by the Global Security Systems & Technology
  • Scope and build creative technical solutions that solve challenges for API integration, databases, and enterprise systems
  • Provide guidance to Global Security Systems & technology managers and teams regarding the impact and resolution of issues affecting applications that are utilized across the Facebook footprint for Global Security
  • Understands and applies comprehensive knowledge of security suite of applications, troubleshooting, managing large and small scale issues
  • Mentor and teach others to build up team knowledge and strengths
  • Actively involved in interviewing and onboarding of new employees and contributes to setting team goals and direction
  • Plans, executes and evaluates complex assignments
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years of technology, or systems engineering experience support in a production support, technical operations
  • Experience managing workload distribution
  • Experience monitoring team performance, strengths and weaknesses
  • Experience working with end-users, other systems engineers, infrastructure, IT support, management, network teams, field teams in production support environment
  • Experience in SQL database
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Knowledge of security systems such as Genetec, CCure, Access Management, badge printing
  • Services, server and operating system management experience
  • Network management understanding
  • Security operations, or help desk experience
  • Interpersonal, collaboration, and problem-solving experience
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to focus on troubleshooting problems
  • Experience maintaining data systems, identifying root cause and corrective action
  • Experience building ETL pipelines
