Systems Engineer

Facebook Reality Labs (FRL) is a world leader in the design of virtual and augmented reality systems. We are currently seeking for an innovative Systems Engineer with a passion for technology to help develop the next generation of virtual humans. You'll be a critical member of a multi-disciplinary team, in charge of the design and implementation of high-end data capture systems.

Required Skills

  • Design, implementation and maintenance of multi-sensor systems, including but not limited to sensor selection, sensor mounts, system calibration, lighting design, power distribution, synchronization, triggering system
  • Oversee hardware and system integration, data transfer pipeline
  • Work with research teams to identify scope, constraints, dependencies and risks to improve the data capture process
  • Collaborate with other research teams across the research organization
  • Drive R&D and stay on top of new technology

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in hardware engineering, with mechanical and electronics systems skills
  • Understanding of cameras and lenses: setup, maintenance, tuning, calibration, distortion, color balance, lighting
  • Understanding of depth sensing, multi sensor calibration and synchronization, computer network architecture
  • Organizational and planning skills, and attention to detail

Preferred Qualification
  • Experience working with a cross-disciplinary team of researchers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, optical engineers, and software engineers
  • Experience with protocol design, specification, and implementation
  • Experience with computer vision, machine learning, graphics, motion capture pipeline
  • Experience with virtual or augmented reality systems
