The CSI Ops Partnerships and Tech Team assists legal compliance, security and investigations (CSI) teams by providing deep technical solutions to highly complex and real world impacting problems. We manage the systems that power law enforcement response, transparency reporting as well as other front-line outreach and compliance functions. Our group is looking for a technical leader to work on small to medium sized projects oriented around (1) extracting and enriching data, (2) applying filtering and transformation logic to large data volumes of data, and (3) increasing operational efficiency in existing software frameworks. This individual, with engineering experience, will be eager to focus on internal tools, scripting, and operational team support. The ideal candidate will be able to aid globally distributed groups with mid-range to complex solutions for technically oriented issues. The candidate will be able to demonstrate comfort in three areas: (1) maintaining and expanding internal software solutions for a diverse set of operational teams, (2) developing quick fixes for intake and processing data pipelines, (3) work closely with operations and development teams on streamline processes for maximized operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Use analysis and metrics to improve workflow and processes that increase our team's operational efficiency and impact
  • Work with engineers to identify, develop, and improve on technical products used to facilitate processes like cybercrime investigations and online safety initiatives
  • Use your existing technical & engineering experience to troubleshoot and resolve issues prior to reaching the development tier
  • Maintain systems for receiving, triaging and responding to technically oriented requests with tight, often life impacting, timelines
  • Incorporate new data pipelines into existing frameworks to ensure that information makes it where it's needed
  • Collect and implement data driven technical solutions to address emerging operational problems
  • Help devise, write, and implement tooling and policies across CSI operations
  • Work with internal partners to help collect, translate and, at times, implement technology based solutions between operations and technical project management (TPM) teams
  • Serve as an escalation point for frontline systems difficulties
  • Work closely with frontline analyst to understand processing and operational needs

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of developing and debugging in PHP & Python
  • Experience with SQL & scripting (ex. Bash/Perl)
  • Ability to travel to both international and domestic locations
  • Ability to interact with internal and cross-functional stakeholders across Operations, Product, Policy and Training
  • Practical experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, (Excel, Power Point, Word)
  • Ability to multitask and work in an unstructured environment of fast growth
