Strategic Safety Program Manager (Credible Threats and Integrity)

The Strategic Initiatives group is looking for a Program Manager with experience managing dynamic, innovative and solution-driven initiatives to coordinate a portfolio of projects centering around law enforcement, safety, and integrity programs. As a Strategic Initiatives Program Manager, you will be responsible for developing strategy and driving execution for operational excellence and policy alignment across teams. This involves working across multiple complicated and often unrelated operational workflows, establishing relationships with partners across the company, and developing creative solutions to see through to execution. You will own communications on these issues, and be required to convey particular details to leadership as well as partner stakeholders, and to drive alignment and clarity across often competing priorities. You will work with highly talented and experienced partner teams of subject matter experts on integrity, legal, safety, and engineering issues. You will be responsible for closely monitoring the key trends in the law enforcement and integrity space, and translating those into actionable insights for the strategic direction of the long-term product roadmap, and influencing the relevant teams to maximize impact for Facebook. The successful candidate should have demonstrated skills in communication, organization, and presentations. This role requires experience in leveraging data and technology to direct and support execution. This is a full-time position located in Menlo Park, CA or Washington, D.C.


  • Proactively identify issues and self-direct work towards highest impact focus areas
  • Develop strategy, frameworks and roadmaps for how to approach difficult, long-term problems
  • Influence outcomes in cross-functional settings
  • Understand and shape technology requirements, goals and milestones of high priority projects
  • Conduct ongoing communication of team programs and reduce surprises by proactively managing risks
  • Build subject matter expertise, stay up to date on technology, and identify key partnerships to help define company roadmaps
  • Drive accountability for ideas, deadlines and outcomes within the team and with stakeholders
  • Travel internationally, up to 20% of the year
  • 8+ years’ experience in technology, safety, security or government industries in project management or program coordination
  • Experience switching from program level to task level issues in driving projects to completion
  • Experience developing long term strategy and executing action plans to implement that strategy
  • Experience working across technical cross-functional teams
  • Experience motivating and adapting to different working styles based on teams involved
