Strategic Partner Manager - WhatsApp

The purpose of this role will be to manage and develop our regional plans for the WhatsApp Business API, focused on business messaging, strategically creating and implementing client specific business plans, negotiating commercial terms and promotions, monitoring competitor activity and market trends, supporting the cross functional teams in delivering growth.

You will play a key role in defining and driving impactful partnerships, solving complex product problems and building programs and infrastructure that power WhatsApp's products and drive growth across the platform.

We're looking for proven analytical skills and the ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of management. You'll enjoy a team-oriented environment, working cross-functionally with the Product, Business Development, Marketing, Operations and Engineering teams to develop new ways we can improve the WhatsApp Business Messaging experience. This is a full-time position based in London.

STRATEGIC PARTNER MANAGER - WHATSAPP RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop the client ecosystem in the region to support scaling of the WhatsApp Business API.
  • Responsible for creating strategic relationships that will lead to successful business models for our partners and WhatsApp.
  • Set targets and goals within direct clients aligned to regional expectations and ensure delivery against plans.
  • Responsible for managing pipeline information and client relationships to identify potential new business leads, growth opportunities or future competitive trends.
  • Maintain account plans and build close working relationships with key stakeholders in the marketplace.
  • Present to and consult with management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
  • Provide an objective commercial viewpoint based on an in-depth understanding and analysis of commercial and competitive information.
  • Work in a fast-paced and iterative environment with leaders across Engineering, Product, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Policy and Partner management teams.
  • Develop and execute the partnership strategies and programs to enable our product and business strategy
  • work with product and engineering teams to identify product gaps that can be addressed through partnerships.
  • Support ideation, partnership development, and launch of innovative products and features on WhatsApp.
  • Present to and consult with management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
  • Along with cross functional teams, create, maintain and influence relationships with key ecosystem players in the region to help establish a narrative of WhatsApp for good.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • BA/BS in Business or management related field or commensurate professional experience.
  • Sales experience within cPaaS, SaaS or enterprise software environments.
  • Experience delivering partnerships from inception to delivery.
  • Proven experience creating, negotiating and closing complex deals.
  • Knowledge of user needs, gathering requirements, and defining scope.
  • Evidence of operating autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership.
  • Organizational, coordination and multi-tasking experience.
  • Analytical and problem-solving with large-scale systems.
  • Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners in different time zones.
  • Capacity to get things done at short notice while collecting information from a variety of internal and external sources.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Additional language other than English.
