The Security Operations Associate Shift Manager leads a team of contingent (shift) GSOC operators to support Facebook’s 24×7 watch operations, and acts as the on-shift facilitator for crisis management event support. Leads, guides and directs GSOC shift operations. Implements and supports Global Security Operations and Crisis Management initiatives, processes and best practices to support strategic goals and ensure the GSOC meets desired performance metrics. Monitors and assesses events that have the potential to compromise the safety and security of Facebook’s personnel, offices, data centers, and corporate locations. Communicates threat reporting and incident messaging to Global Security Leadership and company executives and employees. Provides support to business partners during business disruptions, and assists the GSOC Managers and GSO managers to handle the situation escalation and requisite communications to both field and HQ leadership. Facilitates GSO leadership support cross-organizational crisis management team(s) in situations when the GSOC activates its Incident Command capabilities. This opening is specifically for the overnight/grave shift.

Responsibilities

  • Under the guide of the Shift Manager, will lead the team on a daily basis in support of all designated SOC tasks
  • Coach individual and team performance to consistently meet performance standards
  • Assist in the managing of training, development, and retention of highly qualified team members
  • Analyzes world events to determine the impact to Facebook personnel and interests
  • Maintain a deep understanding of operational risks and assists in coordinating the response process in order to minimize the impact of these risks
  • Influence and improve upon existing processes through innovation and operational change
  • Support strategic plans and projects to meet Global Security and GSOC goals and objectives
  • Provide information and tactical guidance to leadership during incidents
  • Serve as final approver for mass notifications/communications
  • Implement training and exercises to ensure GSOC team proficiency
  • Conduct after action reviews to identify lessons learned and best practices
  • Regularly review standard operating procedures and protocols to ensure GSOC continues to effectively meet operational requirements
  • Routinely engage with cross functional teams to evaluate GSOCs ability to meet stakeholder needs
  • Evaluate existing technical capabilities and systems and identify opportunities for improvement
  • May be required to work nights and weekends

Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years of relevant work experience, preferably in a security operations/fusion center environment
  • Experience leading a team
  • Willing to work graveyard/overnight shift
  • Strong decision making ability during emergency situations
  • Able to effectively communicate with and influence leadership
  • Able to work with highly confidential information
  • Proven ability to influence key business partners without authority
  • Outstanding ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities and tasks
  • Ability to work under stress and tight deadlines
  • Strong technical competence, particularly in video management and alarm monitoring systems

  • Experience working with or in support of diverse communities.
