Facebook is seeking a strategic, analytical and process/detail-oriented Sales Operations Manager who can work effectively with Marketing Science leadership to drive better business decisions. The role supports the Marketing Science Organization that is responsible for helping FB clients and the industry adopt better marketing practices as a way to improve business performance. The Marketing Science organization has both a client facing team as well as research and partnerships teams which the sales operations team support to help drive organizational efficacy. The Sales Operations Program Manager will partner specifically with the client facing team that works with Facebook's largest advertising clients, and stakeholder support to our VP of Client measurement.
The mission of the Sales Operations group is to maximize business performance by being the objective, trusted partner to the sales and marketing organization - through strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration and operational excellence. The objective of this role is to provide this type of support specifically for our client measurement organization. In so doing, this Program Manager will drive strategic business decisions in close partnership with leadership by using clear frameworks, deploying excellent communication tactics, and producing deep analyses that will be the foundation upon which the recommendations are built. These business decisions touch upon many aspects of the Marketing Science team, including organizational design, growth opportunities, and standard sales operations processes (e.g., book construction, goal-setting/ business planning, analytics/reporting, and operating cadence management).
This role will work cross-functionally with multiple teams at Facebook (including Marketing Science, Finance, Tools Development teams). The ideal candidate will be passionate about Facebook and digital advertising, be intellectually curious and a fast learner, be able to work independently and be comfortable with ambiguity, while keeping focused on high impact projects. We support the Marketing Science leadership team with business planning, analytics and insight, and drive operating cadence. We also identify and drive critical projects and strategic initiatives that will help drive growth.
This is a full-time position and is located in our Menlo Park office


  • Operations and Analytics
    • Drive operational reviews and rhythm of the business, leading business analysis including revenue, customer and market analysis
    • Help the team scale best practice: Translate global initiatives to regional level and help drive alignment and develop projects at regional level that have potential to scale at a global level
    • Lead analysis on business performance to drive operational changes. Conduct insightful analysis using internal and external data (e.g. revenue, product, market, industry) to derive insights that will drive business insights and recommendations. Familiarity with basic statistical analysis and modeling required to help assess marketing science effectiveness
    • Improve operational excellence through identification and execution of initiatives that create efficiency, remove obstacles, or create improved processes and approaches to the business. This includes identifying ways in which tools can be built and deployed to improve workflows
  • Strategic projects and initiatives:
    • Support sales teams on medium/long-term planning including business potential, resourcing and org design
    • Identify, scope and drive critical projects and initiatives for Client Measurement org, partnering with cross-functional teams across the organization
  • Business partnership with business leaders:
    • Develop strong relationships with Marketing Science leadership team to act as a trusted advisor on business decisions
    • Build cross-functional relationships and be able to establish resources to help solve complex interdisciplinary problems on behalf of the business
Minimum Qualifications
  • BA/BS in an analytical field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business or related field)
  • 8+ years of work experience in Sales Finance, Sales Analytics, Sales Operations, and/or Strategy consulting, or 6+ years experience with MBA/Master's degree
  • Experience in problem solving and providing business insights and recommendations from data sets
  • Proven stakeholder management experience - including managing multiple partners simultaneously
  • Excel experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or graduate degree in an analytical field
  • Experience with SQL
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple concurrent projects and drive initiatives in a cross-functional environment
  • Experience extracting data from large/complex databases
  • Experience in data visualizations and building scalable reporting tools
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and Tableau
