Regional Manager, Data Center Connectivity

Facebook is seeking an experienced Regional Manager of Field Operations to join our Global Data Center Connectivity (DCC) team. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly growing infrastructure efficiently operates, and our innovative services are delivered. The DCC Regional Manager will provide strategic direction and oversight to our data center builds, improvements, and sustaining operations, with a strong focus on operational excellence. This role will also help develop management and leadership talent to ensure DCC's success. This position is full-time, based at a Facebook Headquarters in Menlo Park, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Data Center Connectivity teams responsible for new builds, data center improvements, and sustaining activities in Western U.S. and Asia Pacific
  • Onboard and manage DCC/Network Deployment partners to meet Facebook standards
  • Participate in Quarterly Supplier Business Reviews
  • Assure planning and execution of complex data center build and improvement projects, on time and in budget, in coordination with construction and design teams
  • Consistently deliver infrastructure that leads the industry in quality, delivery, scalability, and safety
  • Build a high performing regional team, with emphasis on mentoring and developing DCC field managers and individual contributors
  • Provide leadership to understand, collaborate with, and influence organizations that connect with the DCC team
  • Drive effective cross-functional communications across DCC and with adjacent teams
  • Develop a scalable operations model including a documented roadmap, goals, and objectives
  • Identify best practices and help drive through crisp Standard Operating & Installation Procedures (SOPs/SIPs) and training materials
  • With DCC regional managers, site managers, and MPK-based leadership, establish Key Performance Indicators and field performance targets for builds and sustaining operations. Consistently deliver to these targets
  • Highlight opportunities for significant operational improvements and drive high impact initiatives with measurable results
  • Accurately forecast regional OpEx and CapEx spend, and manage to agreed budgets
  • Identify and respond to high-priority issues rapidly and effectively
  • Travel approximately 35-40% to drive initiatives, address business critical issues, and coordinate with onsite personnel and deployment contractors at Facebook locations
Minimum Qualifications
  • 15+ years experience in a leadership role
  • Experience in a mission critical environment, operating at scale
  • Experience engaging, influencing, and leading stakeholders
  • Track record of problem solving, thinking strategically and executing tactically
  • Experience in leadership development, operations management, and team building
  • Problem solving experience and track record of overseeing projects
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in fields related to either Engineering or Business
  • Data center and construction experience
  • Experience with fiber/cabling infrastructures
  • Knowledgeable of deployment partner price/cost structures pertaining to network ISP/OSP
  • Global Operations experience
