Public Policy Manager

Facebook is seeking a Public Policy Manager to help us manage policy issues in Korea. The successful candidate will demonstrate uncommon expertise in digital policy issues and exhibit an excellent track record in handling relevant data regulations. Candidates should have strategic vision to forecast regulatory trends and use that analysis to shape Facebook's policy approaches. The right candidate will be committed to data-driven innovation and be passionate about the positive power of social media, while being accomplished at engaging regulators and other relevant policy stakeholders. This role is full-time and will be based in Seoul, Korea.


  • Serve as a subject matter expert on digital policy issues in Korea
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders including regulators, policymakers, industry associations and civil society
  • Conceive and implement Facebook's strategy on digital policy issues
  • Analyze legislative and regulatory proposals on privacy, data and related technology issues
  • Represent Facebook at meetings and conferences, while supporting external policy events
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency in approach

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of work experience leading technology policy issues
  • Successful track record managing regulators, policymakers, civil society and other stakeholders
  • Keen understanding of Korean politics, policy environment, regulatory trends and influencers
  • Passion and knowledge of Facebook's products and emerging technologies
  • Strong and current insight into privacy and data-related issues, legislation and regulation
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgments under tight deadlines
  • A team player with a high degree of flexibility and willingness to work on a wide variety of policy and regulatory questions with cross-functional teams
  • Superb written and oral communications skills
  • Fluency in Korean and English, both written and verbal required
  • BA/BS in law, political science, public policy, or related field required
  • JD, LLM, MA and PhD relevant to data policy issues highly preferred
