Program Manager, Data Center Connectivity

Facebook is seeking a Program Manager to join our Data Center Connectivity (DCC) team. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly growing infrastructure efficiently operates and our innovative services are delivered. The DCC Program Manager will provide forecasting, coordination, and oversight to our data center cabling installations, with emphasis on new builds in North America. This role will be accountable for cost, schedule, and resources, and is expected to provide key support of our initiatives to scale operations and to develop robust processes and tools enabling Facebook's expansion. This position is full-time and is based in our main office in Menlo Park, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with internal stakeholders to accurately forecast and plan for new builds in North America
  • Program manage new data center cabling builds, from design through turn-over
  • Coordinate DCC's builds with design and field teams, contractors, material vendors and other stakeholders within Facebook
  • Provide regular project status updates and support DCC and corporate dashboards that highlight program timelines, costs, and status
  • Drive development of tools to track and coordinate DCC builds, both planned and in-flight
  • Track performance to schedule & financial goals, highlight opportunities for improvement, and drive accordingly
  • Partner with sourcing & field teams to provide rolling forecasts and to scale resources to meet increasing build and retrofit requirements
  • Assist with developing project budgets and providing ROM cost estimates
  • Travel 20+% to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors at project locations
  • Identify and respond to risks and high-priority issues rapidly and effectively
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science
  • 5+ years professional experience in program management
  • Oversight of timelines and budgets for projects
  • Ability to engage and guide stakeholders
  • Must be detail oriented, able to provide solutions to problems, and able to meet deadlines
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and MS Project
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in mission critical environments
  • Data center development and construction experience
  • Knowledge of cabling technologies and standards
