Building 8 brings together world-class experts to develop and ship groundbreaking products at the intersection of hardware, software, and content. We have a clear mandate to ship products at scale. In particular, seemingly impossible products that define new categories that advance Facebook's mission of connecting the world. The B8 team will apply DARPA- style breakthrough development at the intersection of ambitious science and product development. It will operate on aggressive, fixed timelines, with extensive use of partnerships in universities, small and large businesses. Building 8 seeks a Product Manager with the technical expertise and business acumen to seamlessly collaborate with teams in engineering, go-to-market, product marketing and finance, leading product roadmap definition and driving a robust product management process from discovery to development to launch. Through your leadership, you will develop thoughtful, customer-focused and innovative solutions to complex problems inspiring your stakeholders and creating a robust and profitable product strategy. We are looking for a slightly impatient individual willing to face down their fear of failure to accomplish bold things. This is a two-year position based in our Menlo Park office


  • Deliver product value proposition, key features and product positioning
  • Use market research and in-depth knowledge of competitors and user pain points to define a vision and strategy for the product roadmap and your product line's partner and ecosystem road maps
  • Create product requirements documents including definition of use cases, user experience and feature specifications in order to detail how a product or product feature should be built out
  • Develop outstanding strategic relationships with partners and business teams in order to understand product development and business processes
  • Develop relationships with developers and artists to create content for your product at launch
  • Create developer ecosystem including designing and deploying hackathons and workshops at universities and conferences
  • Engage partners alongside operations and engineering teams to support product design development and launch
  • Work with marketing and PR teams to craft product positioning, create compelling marketing materials, execute launches flawlessly

Minimum Qualifications

  • MS in computer science
  • Computer graphics experience in virtual reality, augmented reality, interactive art, or related fields
  • Experience with building developer tools and fostering an ecosystem around them
  • Experience with leading teams
  • Experience with closing high-value opportunities within a technical environment.
  • Communication Skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Track record developing nascent software technologies into successful products
  • Understanding of agile software development practices and experience crafting epics and user stories
  • Familiarity with business issues and the ability to learn quickly
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong technical abilities
