Location Platform builds experiences to bring people closer together while helping them navigate and explore the world, safely and confidently. We do this by building best-in-class exemplars, defining the guidelines and principles around responsible location data usage, and serve as subject-matter experts for teams building their own location-powered products across the FB Family of Apps. Most recently, we joined the AR/VR organization and are defining how to bring these experiences to new contexts, whether it's on-the-go, at home, or in a virtual world.You will collaborate closely with product management and engineering to set product vision, strategy and user experiences to then bring this vision to life. The ideal candidate will have strong fundamentals in visual and interaction design, and expertise leading a team through a 0-1 product development cycle.

  • Help lead the vision and strategic plan for the product roadmap, both short term and long-term
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to oversee the user experience of 0-1 products from concept through launch
  • Facilitate vision workshops/sprints to align and drive momentum toward an ambitious future
  • Define clear milestones and design deliverables to drive progress toward a multi-year vision
  • Clearly articulate design decisions to various internal stakeholders
  • Execute in a fast-paced and highly fluid environment
  • Collaborate with teams in other offices, giving and soliciting feedback in order to continually raise our bar for quality
  • Define best practices for building responsibly with location data, and document the respective principles, patterns, and frameworks to scale our methodology across the company
  • Advocate for product design within the AR/VR organization and throughout Facebook
  • 5+ years of experience in designing and shipping consumer software products
  • Design portfolio featuring examples of visual and interaction design work
  • Experience leading product strategy and vision to launch 0-1 products
  • Polished storyteller, and experienced presenting to and influencing stakeholders
  • Experience designing products with considerations for privacy and responsible data use
  • Experience designing for multi-device experiences
  • Experience designing with considerations for visual, audio, and haptic feedback
