Facebook seeks a highly motivated, well organized, team player to join our growing privacy policy team in Europe. The position will focus on data protection, data innovation and the future of the data driven economy globally. The ideal candidate has a strong background in public policy, programme management and is comfortable working on technology policy issues.

We are looking for candidates who can build partnerships with strategic constituents and deliver high impact and innovative new initiatives. You should have a clear understanding of the policy challenges Facebook faces and ambitious and creative ideas about how to address them. You should be highly organised and impact orientated and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, monitor, and analyze data policy issues affecting Facebook globally and build and manage proactive strategies
  • Work in partnership with global teams on the strategy for building relationships with policy makers, civil society and academics
  • Manage operations on global innovation programmes and partnerships in data and policy areas
  • Work with political bodies, policymakers and non-governmental organizations on technology policy issues
  • Build & manage meaningful partnerships with key organizations
  • Build & manage constructive, collaborative networks and coalitions with industry peers in relevant areas
  • Facilitate design-lead approaches to problem-solving inside and outside of facebook with partners and collaborators
  • Coordinate internal and external players across countries and time zones, keeping all informed of progress and deadlines
  • Engage with regulators, policymakers and other third parties and build strong and trusted relationships
  • Represent Facebook at meetings and conferences
Minimum Qualifications
  • Strong analytical, writing and public speaking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to make sound judgments under tight deadlines
  • Proven experience of working on cross functional projects with multiple stakeholders Experience working with political systems and institutions as well as policy, politics and communications
  • Experience with analytical and creative approaches to policy issues
  • Ability to build effective relationships at all levels of an organisation Ability to drive and manage multiple projects and campaigns simultaneously
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Ability to think, plan, and execute resourcefully and creatively
  • Interest in technology and related policy issues
  • Passion for Facebook and its mission to make the world more open and connected
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong academic credentials, higher level degree preferred
  • Experience working with startups and lean methodologies a plus
  • Experience working with design lead problem-solving and innovation systems a plus
  • Working with a web 2.0 or social networking company on privacy issues a plus
