PhD and research recruiting is a core strategic driver of Facebook’s success. We have a world-class team working together to help achieve our ambitions and scale to the next level. As a Recruiting Lead, you will have the experience to grow with the rapidly expanding business. You will develop, drive, and execute on the staffing strategies for our PhD recruiting efforts within our virtual, augmented and mixed reality business. You will lead a team of staffing professionals who are responsible for hiring world-class groups of PhD and postdoctoral talent capable of furthering many of our research areas. Your work will have a direct impact on the team, culture, and identity of Facebook. This role is located in Redmond, WA.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a team of recruiters responsible for global PhD recruiting for Facebook’s virtual and augmented mixed reality efforts, including recruiting strategy, goals, performance management, day-to-day task management
  • Oversee PhD recruiting strategies for several key areas, working with internal research clients to determine hiring targets and resource needs
  • Compile and analyze data and competitive intelligence to develop creative, customized sourcing strategies for the PhD recruiting team
  • Provide clear communication of progress, roadblocks, updates, and future plans to the PhD recruiting team, research teams, and leadership
  • Anticipate team needs and growth and hire, flex and stretch to meet changing business demand
  • Facilitate and lead meetings and key initiatives with recruiting team and client groups
  • Mentor and provide guidance and career development to members of the recruiting team
  • Lead by example through following, setting or sharing recruiting best practices
  • Establish and maintain meaningful relationships with management and key cross-functional stakeholders internally (e.g. Legal, Finance, PR , Growth, Facilities, HR, etc.)
  • Assist in other initiatives, as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of work experience in technical recruitment
  • 2+ years experience of independently partnering with leadership and cross-functional partners to drive hiring initiatives
  • 2+ years of people management experience leading a recruiting team
  • Technical and industry knowledge with experience understanding tech skills, research conferences, academic labs, and communities
  • Experience with compiling, analyzing and capturing insights from data to support business decisions
  • Experience influencing and communicating cross-functionally
  • Multi-tasking experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience recruiting PhD-level talent and researchers
  • 3+ years experience solving ambiguous problems in a fast-paced environment
