PhD and research recruiting is a core strategic driver of Facebook’s success. We have a world-class team working together to help achieve our ambitions and scale to the next level. We’re seeking a dynamic and highly motivated staffing professional to join in this mission. In this hybrid role, you will work closely with PhD recruiters, engineers/researchers, and university programs managers to execute on internship program strategies aimed at attracting and retaining top PhD talent. You will be responsible for hiring world-class groups of PhD interns and your work will have a direct impact on the team, culture, and identity of Facebook. This role is located in Menlo Park, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full-cycle recruiting process for PhD interns across multiple locations
  • Partner with Facebooks Internship Program team on the programmatic execution of the PhD Internship Program
  • Work closely with recruiters and engineers/researchers to deeply understand technical requirements of internship roles, their function and how they fit into the organization
  • Strategize different ways to build PhD talent pipelines and execute on referral generation, events and sourcing campaigns
  • Drive offer process – including extending offers, closing candidates, and generating offer letters
  • Facilitate interview and hiring discussions with interviewers and hiring managers
  • Act as a resource to PhD interns throughout their internship including on-boarding, performance evaluation, and conversion process
  • Partner with Academic Relations team to leverage and build relationships resulting in candidate pipelines

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree
  • 2+ years of technical recruiting experience
  • 2+ years of experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high volume environment
  • 1+ years of experience managing events, programs or large scale processes
  • Problem solving skills, business acumen and ability to handle ambiguous situations
  • Able to speak to Facebook’s technology/industry
  • Tech and industry knowledge with ability to understand relevant tech skills, research conferences, academic labs, and communities
  • Ability to screen CVs to identify fit
  • Ability to engage passive candidates
  • Communicative, detail oriented and has interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work in an ambiguous work environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with recruiting PhDs and researchers
  • Willingness to work flexible hours
