We're looking for an experienced People Analytics Director to join our people analytics function. Our team uncovers data-driven insights to better attract, develop, motivate, and retain Facebook's most important asset - our people. This role will serve as an active partner with HR and functional leaders to perform research and analyses on a broad spectrum of people issues: leadership development, learning and development and other key areas. This leader will also be responsible for drawing connections to other areas such as engagement, diversity, compensation, and retention. You'll also help develop and refine people processes to make an exceptional workplace even better. The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative skills, experience working across a variety of people areas, and experience leading a team of people analysts. We are looking for someone who has excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, and can effectively lead a team, from both a technical and people leadership perspective. For the latter, the ideal candidate will be a strong coach/mentor, help people leverage their strengths, ensure people are growing in their career, and contribute to the overall positive climate in the team.

  • Set the overall vision and strategy for the research strategy to help shape a portfolio of people programs: leadership development, learning and development and other key areas
  • Lead a team of talented people research scientists to conduct research to shape the overall direction of these key people programs
  • Ensure alignment of the overall research agenda with other practices and focus areas across the people analytics team (e.g., diversity, compensation, retention, engagement)
  • Provide thought leadership to key HR and business leaders
  • Influence and drive decisions with key Facebook HR leaders to implement and enhance key people programs
  • Support a team of people research scientists and analytics business partners, ensuring the team is productive, engaged, and thriving in their career
  • Demonstrate exceptional judgment and discretion when dealing with highly sensitive people data and business issues
  • PhD with 12+ years of experience in a field emphasizing people research in organizations (e.g., Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Economics, Management, Policy Analysis, etc. or related degree) or MS with 15+ years of experience as above.
  • 7+ years of experience conducting quantitative people research in an industry setting and/or consulting environment, including working with stakeholders to understand and clarify their people research needs, and communicating analyses to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience communicating technical results to technical and non-technical audiences across all levels of an organization
  • Understanding of data visualization principles
  • Experience with data management and having an understanding of data structures
  • Experience working with HR/organizational people data (e.g. learning effectiveness and/or leadership effectiveness metrics)

  • 3+ years of experience leading others in roles related to leadership development, leadership effectiveness, or related areas
  • Experience managing and analyzing structured and unstructured data using tools such as SQL, R, Python, SPSS, STATA or Tableau
  • 3+ years experience working internally (as opposed to consulting) in a medium to large organization (e.g., high-tech, financial services, healthcare, biotech, etc.)
  • 3+ years experience managing a team of quantitatively-oriented people analysts
  • Experience developing tools, conducting empirical research, practical implementation, knowledge of best practices in at least three of the following areas: employee engagement, learning and development, performance management, diversity, compensation, or retention
  • 15+ years of experience in roles emphasizing people research
