Pastry Chef

The Pastry Chef is responsible for the leadership of the Pastry team by managing and overseeing the production. Knowledge of menu development, recipe testing, staging and training new hires. This position also responsible for overseeing the production of lunch and dinner along with any special pop ups, and to maintain good safety & sanitation practices. He/She is expected to maintain high standards by our culinary values.


  • Responsible for creating menus & order guides
  • Ensure cost effective production of the highest quality desserts
  • Research and experiment with international desserts
  • Responsible for daily and weekly pastry/dessert production
  • Instructs team on duties and techniques
  • Coaches team members on best practices
  • Supervise a small team
  • Set up station according to kitchen guidelines
  • Training bakers and potential managerial roles
  • Involved in the hiring process: interviewing, staging, and training
  • Promotes safety within team members and work environment by using food handling skills
  • Prepares all food items directed in a sanitary and timely manner
  • Prepares food items consistently by adhering to our standards
  • Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed as requested by upper management
  • Comprehend and enforce safety/health procedures
  • 4+ years' experience as a Pastry Chef
  • Culinary school graduate
  • Management experience
  • Experience working as part of a team
  • Experience working a kitchen environment
  • Knowledge about desserts, seasonality, food trends, production, sanitation, food cost control and presentation
  • Experience baking a variety of global desserts
  • Experience supervising, training and leading the Pastry Team
  • Independent, dedicated and a self-starter
