Oculus Research, the research division of Oculus (Facebook), is currently recruiting a highly motivated Operations Program Manager to manage and drive operations excellence within our research programs. The role will involve coordinating and managing all of the company’s fabrication resources (in-house and external) to deliver working LED module prototypes on-time.The job is particularly suited to a person with a strong technical and operations management experience and a passion to get the job done on time and to target. The Operations Program Manager will join a vibrant, multidisciplinary and fast-moving research environment. This is a full-time position based in our Cork site, Ireland.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the human, physical and mechanical resources to ensure all prototype delivery schedules are met
  • Overseeing the daily activities and priorities to meet the needs and expectations of the researchers and research programs
  • Manage staff welfare by providing for all their needs
  • Ensuring a work environment that supports enhanced quality and on-time delivery of prototypes
  • Initiate and drive operations excellence within the organization
  • e.g. lean thinking and continuous improvements
  • Develop Business Management Systems tailored to the needs of the research programs
  • Responsible for regulatory, health & safety, logistics and IT support infrastructure
  • Long-term planning and establishment of initiatives aimed at operational excellence
  • Responsible for laboratory and fabrication resources and equipment – including calibration, up-time, maintenance, supports and facilities
  • Communicate operations status to stakeholders and various key teams around the organization

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of tech industry experience
  • 2+ years of technical program management experience
  • Extremely strong communication skills and experience working with highly technical teams
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills along with multi-tasking capabilities to get things done in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to motivate and focus a large collaboration to reach challenging goals
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within diverse, cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exposure to large-scale systems
