Offsite Technical Producer

Facebook is seeking a Technical Producer to work directly with our Event Planners and support the technical aspects of their events. This position is part of the IT organization, so candidates must be passionate about Technology, live customer service and have the ability to thrive in fast paced, high-pressure environment. Heavy global travel is expected. This is a full-time position based in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews client (Event Planner) requests and provides technical direction for the planning, scheduling, and delivery of services
  • Applies significant knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service to our clients
  • Directs and oversees work of Event Production Vendors and Audio Visual Support Vendors
  • Cultivate a network of global event resources and provide Event Ops Manager with reports on vendor performance
  • Easily steps into the role of Executive Producer, Technical Director, and/or Project Manager from planning to execution for all assigned events globally
  • Handles international shipping logistics to ensure timely delivery of IT/AV support materials as well as client-specific materials
  • Keeps Event Ops Manager well informed of status of event support efforts and serves as liaison between vendors and clients
  • Owns the technical support lifecycle and is responsible for managing technical risks throughout support planning and delivery
  • Communicates and enforces Facebook standards, creating and defining new standards as technology and scope evolves
  • Helps identify and vet in region resources including, but not limited to, audio visual service providers, venues, and remote network infrastructure support
  • Manages technical resources within budget and client support schedule
  • Consistently delivers high-quality, high impact services to clients

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience of technical event production experience in a corporate or entertainment field
  • 3+ years experience of equipment operation experience in live audience event environment
  • 2+ years experience working in a project management role
  • 1+ year of technical education or on the job training equivalent in CAD software
  • 1+ year experience operating Video Conferencing, Audio Conferencing, Local Audio Reinforcement, Video and Graphics Technologies (including projection, switching, and formatting), Video Recording and Camera Operation, Internet Broadcast Video Streaming, Network Infrastructure Assessment, Set design, and IT operations and Support
  • 2+ years experience with vendor assessment and management
  • 1+ years experience working on international events
  • Understands the benefits of the various event formats (i.e. Q&A, Training, Town Hall, Broadcast, etc), as well as how to execute these formats flawlessly
  • Possesses significant knowledge of technical event support system architectures
  • At least 70% travel required
  • Fluent in English and Portuguese
