Network Planning Manager

We are looking for a Manager for Network Planning to join our Backbone team to support the expansion of our global network. This is an ideal role for a Network Planner that wants to work on a purpose built and ever expending network that touches and changes lives of billions for the better every day.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and retain a world-class global network planning engineering team through mentorship, guidance and career development
  • Work cross-functionally with highly technical software and network infrastructure teams, understand their goals, and create tools and visualizations to get the right data in the hands of teams to make decisions
  • Align the team to execute new initiatives to optimize network usage
  • Develop planning methodologies to increase reliability, stability, efficiency, and service agility of Facebook networks
  • Work with Facebook's internal partners working with constraints of the network supply chain to deliver network capacity to minimize the risk
  • Support the team in designing IP topology, taking into consideration physical path, resiliency availability, performance and cost
  • Collaboration with engineering, finance, and sourcing functions to support network acquisitions strategies
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years experience leading and managing teams within an engineering organization
  • 3+ years of production planning experience
  • Relationship management experience and experience working within a global organization
  • Experience providing technical leadership and guidance
  • Analytical and problem-solving experience
  • Knowledge of network topology and experience in building resiliency design
  • Experience with network modeling tools such as: Cariden, WANDL, ARIA, OPNET, or other in-house tool
  • Experience communicating across the organization, including sourcing, engineering and program management
  • BS or MS in Engineering, Operations Research or other computer related field
