Market Analytics Manager AR/VR

We're building the next generation of devices and experiences that make people feel closer together, which we call Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR). The AR/VR organization includes Oculus products and other hardware, AR and VR software and content, and research and development labs. To define the customer strategy across those product groups over a 10-year timeframe, we're forming a new team called AR/VR Market Analytics. This team will develop essential insights that will enable us to scale AR/VR technology to the next billion people and beyond.
This role will work closely with product and marketing leadership to influence key strategic decisions based on an understanding of customer segments and needs through a market (industry/competitive) lens. This requires the ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify and prioritize strategic opportunities, design and execute ambiguous and complex projects, synthesize and structure data from disparate sources, and develop recommendations that influence our long-term product roadmaps. Empathy, discernment, and operational excellence are essential qualities for this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Scope, define and drive the analyses needed to develop deep understanding of customer needs, growth drivers and industry trends
  • Craft compelling stories with your insights, communicate them clearly and debate recommendations, with both product teams and executive leadership
  • Collaborate with related functions (e.g., UX Research, Business Operations, Business Development) to maximize impact and efficiently leverage collective resources, managing and integrating third-party resources where needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent marketing experience
  • 6+ years marketing analytics experience
  • Experience conducting quantitative and/or qualitative market research (e.g., segmentation, market sizing, competitive analysis, customer needs/SWOT analysis)
  • Experience defining and leading projects
  • Communication and collaboration experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in related function (e.g., strategy, finance, business operations, product marketing, and/or market research)
  • Experience in related industry (e.g., consumer electronics, software, and/or content)
  • Experience/expertise in product pricing strategy
  • Domain expertise in entertainment, productivity, gaming, communication, and/or integrity/safety
  • MBA or advanced degree in some combination of humanities and quantitative field
