Legal Project Manager, Compliance & Investigations

The Compliance, Security, and Investigations Operations group is looking for an experienced project manager with cross-functional project management and technical experience. They will be a natural communicator who focuses priorities and conveys particular details to a team of stakeholders and engineers. Lastly, the candidate should have familiarity with or be willing to work on the intersection of tech, legal, compliance and law enforcement matters. Any offer for this position will be contingent on successfully passing a US government background check, which is required for the job.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a trusted partner and advisor to the Legal Compliance and Investigations teams to coordinate the consolidation, tracking and communication of project requirements, priority and status to key stakeholders including engineers and leadership
  • Identify, define, and drive new or existing team projects and products
  • Stay connected with frontline practices and provide direct/specific input aimed at increasing operational efficiency with process, tooling, staffing or vendor integration
  • Implement lightweight solutions for tracking and communicating project status
  • Build subject matter expertise, stay up to date on technology, and identify key partnerships to help define team roadmap
  • Serve as an escalation point for frontline difficulties where the next step to resolution is ambiguous
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • B.S. in a technical discipline or additional 4+ years of project management experience
  • 8+ years of experience in technology focused projects and/or product development
  • Knowledge of software and/or hardware infrastructures
  • Track record of breaking down process and identifying pain points in order to deliver operational and technical improvements
  • Experience in legal or law enforcement compliance or other internal control function at a financial services or similar company
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • PMP or Agile certification
  • Experience with software engineering and/or compliance technology projects
  • Experience leading projects, work streams, and deliverables
  • Organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across technical cross-functional teams
  • Experience working in a web/internet start-up environment and/or technical infrastructure and/or product management experience
  • Experience with technical execution, implementing new tools and change management for large company wide programs
  • Experience leading engagements with internal legal stakeholders as well as external cross-functional work stream leads, stakeholders and engineering partners
  • Ability to motivate and adapt to different working styles based on teams involved
