Oculus Research, the research division of Oculus (Facebook), is currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated LED processing engineer. The role involves undertaking in-house process development and the fabrication of LED prototypes, in addition to supporting the activities relating to LED design and optimization.The job is particularly suited to an individual who wishes to further develop their career in a vibrant, multidisciplinary and fast-moving research environment. Both positions are full-time positions based in our Cork office, Ireland.

Responsibilities

  • Fabrication of semiconductor-based devices in a clean room environment
  • Process development & optimization, process troubleshooting
  • Delivery of devices for the needs of internal and external projects
  • Documentation and control responsibility for all processes and procedures related to the position
  • Designing DOEs, analysing the data and reporting the key results during meetings
  • Promote and support innovation to facilitate IP generation as appropriate
  • Interface with suppliers and partners, from a technical and project management perspective

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Micro-electronics, Physics or Material Science
  • 5+ years' experience in III-V semiconductor (GaN/GaAs) processing
  • Expertise in Micro and nano-fabrication of optoelectronic devices such as red, green and blue LEDs and lasers
  • Strong background in semiconductor physics & materials science
  • Broad expertise in material & device characterization
  • Hands-on approach to device fabrication
