Lead, Developer Policy Enforcement Operations

Our team makes sure the applications on our platform are high-quality and trustworthy. Working closely with other Facebook teams, we detect and investigate violations of our Platform Policies. Depending on the nature of the violation and the best interests of our users, we may take a variety of actions; everything from helping the developer fix the problem, to permanently removing the developer and application from our platform. We’re working to improve the platform experience for both users and developers through the use of automated detection tools, strategic manual review, data analysis, developer guidance, and coordination with product engineers. A successful candidate for this role will be able to analyze the impact of policy and enforcement decisions, lead cross-functional projects, develop creative enforcement and compliance solutions, communicate effectively with both internal and external audiences, and make decisions in coordination with multiple Facebook teams. In particular, they will be able to support and educate developers as they seek to comply with Facebook Platform Policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a strong understanding of our platform policies, our mechanisms for detecting violations, the support we provide developers, and the range of enforcement actions we take
  • Deliver data-based insights about our developers so we can more effectively respond to trends
  • Work closely with Facebook teams including policy, developer relations, public communications, engineering, and sales
  • Understand and consider all perspectives in making enforcement decisions, and communicate those decisions to internal partners in a way that builds trust and respect within our ecosystem
  • Develop and lead projects to improve the consistency and efficiency of our communications, the efficiency of our detection and review mechanisms, and the policy education we provide to developers
  • Lead complex investigations of developers and devise methodologies to prevent future behaviors while taking appropriate enforcement actions
  • Communicate effectively with external developers and companies on sensitive matters including enforcement actions
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • BA/BS degree or higher
  • Knowledge about Facebook and the Facebook platform
  • Experience taking and presenting data
  • Problem solving experience and experience providing business insights
  • Interpersonal experience and experience influencing outcomes and communicating technical content to general audiences
  • Experience in public relations, policy creation, or customer service
  • Experience managing people
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate degree with analytical focus or 5+ years work experience showing superior analytical skills
  • Experience in application development or data/statistical modeling
  • Experience in operations management
  • Experience in a fast-paced startup environment
