Imminent Risk Analyst

The Imminent Risk team seeks to identify and prioritize imminent risks to Facebook and its users, identify trends from external industry events, track key public affairs issues to evaluate risks, deliver action-oriented assessments to mitigate risks to our partners, platform and users, as well as provide critical insights to our internal cross functional stakeholders. We're seeking a technically-minded Imminent Risk Analyst with a drive for uncovering risks, tracking current events and public affairs, and utilizing data to formulate an independent perspective when making evaluations.


  • Support Imminent Risk Project managers in day-to-day investigations and risk mitigation work
  • Stay up to date on current events and public affairs and understand how they may cause risk to Facebook
  • Use data and internal tools to identify and investigate potential risk areas in ads, commerce and/or our community
  • Communicate results of analyses or complex investigation with partners and leadership teams alike to influence the strategy of those teams
  • Analyze, organize, consolidate, and visualize large amounts of data from multiple sources in order to identify trends and opportunities to mitigate risk
  • Develop strong partnerships with cross-functional groups to prioritize business needs, and solve problems at scale
  • Address sensitive content issues, relating to offensive images and writings, offensive or derogatory language, or other offensive or controversial material
  • Bachelors degree
  • Internship work or experience in online operations, project management, consulting, research or analyst functions
  • Knowledge of Global current events, including developments in law, politics, technology and culture
  • Communication: Experience collaborating with internal and external individuals and/or organizations to drive consensus
  • Experience using excel to perform analysis
  • Experience prioritizing multiple functions and tasks
  • Bachelors degree: History, International Relations, or Political Science (BA degree) and Economics, Mathematics or Computer Science (BS degree)
  • Relevant prior internship work or experience in investigations, content enforcement, online ads, public policy, press management, or internet safety
  • Experience using SQL queries or R to perform advanced analysis
  • Experience in one of more of the following programming languages: Python, PHP or Haskell
  • Experience working with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
  • Knowledge of EMEA and/or APAC market
