Facebook is seeking a strategic, analytical, and process/detail-oriented Sales Operations Manager who can work effectively with Marketing Science leadership to drive better business decisions. The role supports the Marketing Science Organization that is responsible for helping FB clients and the industry to adopt better measurement as a way to improve business performance. The Marketing Science organization has both a client facing team as well as research and partnerships teams which the sales operations team support to help drive organizational efficacy. The Sales Operations Manager will manage a team of 3-4 sales ops team members while working cross-functionally with several groups at Facebook (including sales, finance, business operations, and business intelligence).The objective of this role is to lead a team that drives strategic business decisions in close partnership with leadership by using clear frameworks, deploying excellent communication tactics, and producing deep analyses that will be the foundation upon which the recommendations are built. These business decisions touch upon many aspects of the Marketing Science organization, including organizational design, growth opportunities, and standard sales operations processes (e.g., book construction, goal-setting, reporting, KPI tracking).The ideal candidate is passionate about Facebook, views the world through an analytical lens, is a clear communicator, an inspiring leader and manager, can quickly build relationships with people of varying personality types, is interested in advertising, and is able to move fast & independently on high-impact projects. This is a full-time position and is located in our Menlo Park


  • Strategic Planning:
  • Support sales teams on medium/long-term planning including business potential, resourcing and org design
  • Identify, scope and drive critical projects and initiatives for Global Sales teams, partnering with cross-functional teams across the organization
  • Operations and Analytics:
  • Project manage improvements to Sales team processes to drive higher efficiencies using a data-driven approach
  • Lead analysis on business performance to drive operational changes. Familiarity with basic statistical analysis and modeling required to help assess marketing science effectiveness
  • Drive operational reviews and rhythm of the business, leading business analysis including revenue, customer and market analysis
  • Management:
  • Manage a high performing sales operations team
  • Partner with senior management on key business and operational activities
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across the company and represent the function in cross-functional teams

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree
  • 15+ years of work experience in Management Strategy Consulting or Sales Planning & Operations, or 13+ years with MBA/Master's degree
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability with experience providing business insights and recommendations from data sets
  • Demonstrated ability to explain concepts to general audiences
  • Excel skills
  • Prior people management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or graduate degree in an analytical field
  • Prior experience with online advertising
  • Experience working with or in support of many different business units
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and drive initiatives in a cross-functional
  • Experience working with or in support of diverse communities
