Global EHS Engineer

Partner with researchers, engineers, architects, and contractors to build specialty spaces that enable AR and VR development. The successful candidate draws on a broad range of experience to develop minimum requirements for equipment design including industrial machinery, laboratory and optics equipment and lasers. This position will understand design review and safety risk assessments including robotics. The candidate is expected to be knowledgeable and experienced in design review and collaborate closely with building architecture and facilities build teams. This position supports operations globally.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop safety design criteria for common equipment and systems
  • Develop EHS design standards for equipment and controls such as robotics, emergency controls, machine safeguarding and laboratory design
  • Oversee and provide input for EHS requirements for all new site and construction projects
  • Undertake equipment selection and review in conjunction with lab managers and engineering leads and develop installation and commissioning requirements on each piece of equipment
  • Conduct risk assessments on new or modified processes and equipment including robotics, automated equipment and optics including laser systems
  • Develop commissioning procedures for standard equipment types for use globally
  • Complete factory acceptance tests, as required
  • Partner with EHS SMEs to develop and enhance existing safety and health procedures for equipment including robotics, machine safeguarding and laboratory design
  • Assist or lead special projects, as requested
  • Travel 30% at times including internationally
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS Degree in Safety, Industrial, Chemical engineering or equivalent
  • 7+ years of experience in equipment, construction and design reviews
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with EU Machinery Directive, risk assessment methodologies
  • Experience in semi-conductor or electronic equipment industry
