We are looking for performance-minded engineers that have strong experience developing performant apps on Android using Android SDK. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in an ambiguous research environment, working with complex systems, identifying optimizations, and working with different disciplines to develop solutions. You will influence the development of core platforms that will enable research across multiple devices. As part of a world-class research engineering team, you will apply best practices from across the industry and help invent new technology for AR/VR.
- Optimize CPU, memory, disk, and battery usage for Android apps
- Work closely with research and design teams
- Prototype new and redesign feature
- Contribute outstanding programming skills to support highly innovative, novel research projects
- Mentor engineers on performance best practice
- B.S. or M.S. Computer Science or 4+ years similar work experience
- 3+ years of experience building Android applications in Java
- Experience building client software for resource constrained devices
- Knowledge of systems architecture and performance tradeoffs
- Experience in C/C++
