Facebook is seeking a talented attorney to join as EMEA Employment Counsel in our Employment Law Group. The position will report to the Associate General Counsel, Labor & Employment and will be responsible for covering parts of our Technical and Engineering organizations, and will provide employment law support to our technical, product and/or engineering functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Advise and provide strategic support to HR Business Partners and business leaders on complicated hires, employee terminations, performance management, investigations, accommodations, reorganizations, and other employment-related matters.
  • Interact with and advise Tech/Eng leadership to support company initiatives such as diversity strategies, manager development and other employee-related company goals.
  • Drafting and revising employment related agreements and policies, including offer letters, severance agreements, confidentiality agreements, employee handbooks, other policies, and other employment related documents, applicable to Facebook’s various global employees.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys on the larger Tech and Employment law teams with respect to all advice and counseling provided to HR and other cross-functional partners.
  • Participate in creation and delivery of trainings related to employment law matters, such as harassment training and other manager trainings on a variety of topics.
  • Draft and edit employment related documents, policies and processes.
  • Manage pre-litigation and litigation matters
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5+ years experience in labor and employment law
  • In-house legal department experience preferred
  • Candidate must be a hands-on worker and team-player, practical, results-oriented, and able to partner effectively with cross-functional teams to provide strategic solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Candidates must be flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary to connect with colleagues in the U.S., LATAM, EMEA and across APAC
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel globally.
