Electrical Engineer, Power

The electrical engineering team within Oculus is seeking an Electrical Engineer with focus on power circuit design, test, and characterization. This candidate will be working with cross-functional design teams throughout the full product development life-cycle. We are looking for a self-starter and a team player who can thrive in a dynamic environment. Strong communications and organizational skill and the ability to multitask across various disciplines and tasks are a must.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER, POWER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a subject expert across the business.
  • Take technical responsibility for the power circuit design, simulation, validation, and characterization across multiple products ensuring their successful delivery.
  • Evaluate and enable innovative solutions for cost, size, efficiency, safety, and reliability.
  • Generate design documentations, perform schematic capture and power delivery network simulation both pre and post board layout, prototype bring-up and design validation.
  • Root-cause and solve technical issues during new product development and in field escalations.
  • Characterize power consumption, battery run time, battery charging/discharging curve at each NPI build. Collect power measurements for weekly SW builds and drive every mA of power out of system cross-functionally.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor or Master in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, Electronics & Telecommunication, Electronics Engineering, or Electronics and Communication
  • 1+ years of experience of low voltage power design in consumer electronics or related fields.
  • Knowledge of the characteristics of power conversion such as linear and of switching regulators.
  • Experience in Battery Management System.
  • Working experience of mobile SoC and companion PMIC chip set.
  • Communication experience, interpersonal and experience working independently or in a team.
  • Analytical experience and experience communicating to audiences.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with Cadence design tools. Experience with main stream PDN simulation tools such as Sigrity or HyperLynx.
  • Working experience of signal integrity analysis tools.
  • Good communication and scripting skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of thermal management.
