As an Electrical Engineer at Facebook Reality Labs, you will design, build and test prototype electrical systems for future consumer AR and VR experiences. You will become part of a team exploring new concepts through fast, iterative prototyping. The teams will dynamically change depending on the problem and potentially include mechanical, optical, firmware, software and research experts where you'll be the electrical expert. We want people who work well in teams, can brainstorm big ideas, work in new technology areas, and are able to drive solutions from design concept to functional prototypes.

  • Designing schematics, completing board layouts, assembling, testing, debugging, and integrating designs into electro-mechanical systems
  • Collaborating in a team environment across engineering disciplines
  • Working with external vendors to define and create custom components
  • Transforming ambiguous requests and vendor reference designs into working custom solutions
  • Driving electrical, system, and component specifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
  • 3+ years of experience in consumer electronics, research or advanced development
  • Experience in schematic capture and HDI board layout using Cadence, Altium or equivalent
  • Experience with oscilloscopes, high speed digital test equipment, logic analyzers, and function generators
  • Experience in initial system bring up, debugging and test code
  • Experience in analog and digital design techniques
  • MS degree, in Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in designing low-power or portable electronic devices
  • Experience in high volume consumer electronics or embedded systems
  • Experience in design, bring up & validation of multi-gigabit interfaces
  • Experience in circuit simulations & modeling (e.g. SPICE, MATLAB)
  • Experience in FPGA RTL & PCBA development
  • Experience in standard MCU interfaces, such as USB, I2C, and SPI
  • Experience in analog circuit design & validation - power supplies, LED drive, clock synchronization
