Director, Multi Vertical Lead

Facebook Canada is seeking an experienced enterprise/agency/sales/marketing leader with demonstrated success managing large business categories on a national and long-term scale to take on the role of Multi Vertical Lead. In the role they will build and manage a strategically focused/consultative sales team of managers and individual contributors, selling Facebook advertising solutions to advertisers and agencies. This person will manage and guide the Facebook monetization of several industries in Canada. They'll lead a high-caliber organization for a business that is experiencing strong growth. The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker with the ability to work cross-functionally to develop scalable solutions for their industries. We are looking for a self-starter who has demonstrated success dealing with ambiguity, managing significant sized teams, and being a problem-solving leader with limited oversight. Ideal candidates will have deep management experience as well as extensive experience selling cross-network marketing solutions. They will have achieved success as leaders of change/operational excellence by introducing new performance measures, processes and systems. This position reports to the Country Lead (Canada) and will manage Industry Managers as direct reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Executive of the Canadian office who will play the lead role in developing holistic business strategies of multiple industries
  • Hold fast moving teams accountable for the execution of strategies
  • Lead a team of Industry Managers who are each responsible for managing one or more verticals
  • Responsible for building out vertical strategies for growth
  • National responsibility for building industries in both developed and undeveloped markets
  • Work cross-functionally with In-Market teams, Global Regions, Business & Sales Operations, Marketing, Measurement/Metrics, Product Marketing, Creative Shop, Communications, Media Partnerships and Government Relations to optimize our client efforts
  • Consult with Product Marketing to help shape product development in support of vertical needs
  • Guide the creation of persuasive presentations and stories that demonstrate the value of Facebook to marketers in multiple industries
  • Lead executive level business and sales discussions
  • Represent Facebook at significant industry events
  • Identify winning strategies and scale the insights throughout the organization
  • Increase the effectiveness of the team by recognizing opportunities for new approaches
  • Lead complex initiatives and deliver scalable solutions and org improvements
  • Develop and implement best practices for client interaction, sales and services for Facebook
  • Build, train and maintain a high performing team & organization
  • Create and lead culture initiatives, such as onboarding/training, and identify and establish ways for growing/maintaining a healthy organization
  • Travel as required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 15+ years of enterprise leadership, including 8+ years of sales and marketing management experience
  • Ability to perform well in a highly dynamic, rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to forge relationships with marketing decision makers at brands and agencies and regarded as the go-to contact with executive management of partner organizations and clients
  • Skilled storyteller with experience communicating the benefit of marketing opportunities to brands
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with an emphasis on translating insights, product information and data in to client value
  • Strong management experience and skills with the proven ability to manage managers, cross-functional teams and influence people not directly reporting to you
  • Able to identify, prioritize and focus managers and team on most impactful opportunities
  • Ensure the team is executing on the brilliant basics by balancing deep involvement and leading from behind
  • Accurate goaling and forecasting to reach and exceed sales quotas

  • Understanding of digital advertising technology and data/performance measurement trends
  • Demonstrated success as a leader of change, achieving operational excellence by introducing new performance measures, processes, and systems
  • Experience taking risks, challenging the status quo, and driving innovation and change for maximum impact on clients and the org
  • Avid Facebook & Instagram user and knowledge of social media and related digital platforms
