Director, Brand Strategy

Facebook serves over 2.7 Billion people across its family of apps and technologies including WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and Oculus. As the company finds itself at the center of so much public debate, the importance of building a strong brand has never been more of a priority.

Facebook is looking for a Director, Brand Strategy to lead teams within the Global Consumer Marketing team. A leader with proven experience of building global brands, who likes to stay close to the work. We are looking for someone who is both humble and inspiring - able to unlock the human and cultural story behind every data point, challenge assumptions and inspire creatives and product teams to develop impactful marketing strategies in service of real human needs.

To be successful at Facebook, you need to embrace the hacker ethos: an ability to move fast, iterate and always be adding value. The successful candidate will need to be tenacious and open, creative and analytical. With a proven ability to: use data to identify insights and build compelling stories, ask and answer different and difficult questions, inspire and support teams with data, evaluate work, learn and adapt quickly.

This role is located in either San Francisco or Menlo Park and will report to the Head of Brand Strategy.

DIRECTOR, BRAND STRATEGY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Become an expert of Facebook's products and Community
  • Lead a team of Brand Strategists
  • Apply focused strategy across diverse, concurrent campaigns and partnerships
  • Champion the human, making sure we are focused on the needs of real people, in the real world
  • Commission and analyze research (qualitative, quantitative, ethnographic), collaborating with internal research teams as well as working with external specialists
  • Analyze Cultural, Technological and Market trends to inform strategic and creative development
  • Capture and bring to life powerful human insights
  • Develop sharply focused creative briefs and deliver inspiring creative briefings
  • Collaborate and support creative teams before and after the briefing
  • Clear and compelling presentation of strategies and ideas to executive stakeholders grounded in data
  • Campaign evaluation and optimization
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10+ years experience as a brand planner or strategist at a brand design or creative agency, consultancy, research company or internal brand-based team
  • 8+ years experience leading brand strategy and planning teams
  • Experience collaborating with organizations
  • Experience in the tech sector
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • International experience
  • Reputation management experience
