Design Program Manager

Program Managers working with our design team at Facebook are passionate connectors and problem solvers. By supporting the operational aspects of the design team, they enable designers to focus their time on designing product. You'll utilize a full range of organizational and interpersonal skills to help keep our teams on track, execute specific design initiatives intended to grow team culture and industry expertise, and you'll have an opportunity to work with cross-functional teams as you establish great ways of working together. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the team has the information and connections they need to succeed
  • Partner with the Design Manager with effective team communication, proactive problem solving, information gathering and distribution as well as cross-team collaboration
  • Establish communication structure across the design team including best practices for meeting facilitation, sharing updates, and connecting with cross-functional teams
  • Work in collaboration with design leaders to scope projects and resources at each stage of the design process
  • Recognize and call attention to any risks that threaten the team's ability to deliver
  • Gather and disseminate organizational metrics to stakeholders at various levels
  • Be responsible for tracking the results of effective design deployments
  • Support the management team with effective team communication, proactive problem solving, information distribution
  • Manage program communication and proactively connect with your partners in other offices or disciplines to make them aware of the programs and how they can support you Prioritization and Planning
  • Facilitate meetings including preparing agendas, keeping conversation on-track and establishing action items and owners
  • Work with cross functional stakeholders to establish deadlines that impact design work and ensure team is aware of key milestone dates. Establish predictable workflow.
  • Track and move product / cross functional initiatives forward that have multiple stakeholders and many moving parts
  • Manage design-driven initiatives that better define our workspace and our workflow
  • Provide flexible processes that meet team needs and help keep work on track
  • Communicate issues related to staying on schedule and propose solutions to remedy the issue Creativity and Problem Solving
  • Proactively raise issues before they are a problem for the design team or product output
  • Establish team member onboarding and education programs
  • Support and execute special team activities that build culture and drive clarity of purpose including team offsites and team onsites
  • Serve as a dependable point of contact/link to DPMs and cross-functional teams across global offices>
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 6+ years of experience as a producer, project manager or program manager with a background establishing systems, supporting teams, and developing relationships
  • Experience working with product designers and passion around creating strong design communities
  • Experience working with multi-group, multi-disciplinary technical projects as well as product designers/UX teams
  • Track record of operating independently, demonstrating creativity, being detail-oriented, and delivering results in a highly organized manner
  • Successful in fast-paced environment that requires independent time management, task prioritization, flexibility, and keen ability to identify problems and proactively work towards solutions
  • Committed and motivated to building a deep subject matter knowledge about design, what motivates designers and what makes them successful
  • Resourceful and flexible, able to quickly adapt to changing priorities
  • Experience with Facebook Advertising Products a plus>
