Facebook is seeking a Site Manager to establish, lead and scale our newest Data Center in New Albany, OH. Our data centers, and the tens of thousands of servers installed in them, are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates and upon which our innovative services are delivered. The establishment of our data center is an important milestone in the evolution of Facebook's datacenter expansion.


  • Establishing and managing a Data Center Operations Team responsible for the installation, maintenance and operation of server hardware
  • Working with the centralized organizations to contract for and manage the day to day operations of the Facility Maintenance Team and other outsourced services
  • Assisting the Site Selection and Datacenter Design and Construction Teams with the development of the project site, from groundbreaking through handoff to the Datacenter Operations Team
  • Working with Public Relations and Site Operations Management, take a leading role in managing the ongoing relationships with local, regional and national entities
  • Working with peer organizations to assist with issues associated with network operations, project management and supply chain operations.
  • Mentoring managers and leads such that they can run daily operations with minimal supervision
  • Developing both the technical capabilities and leadership qualities of individual contributors
  • Finding creative ways to keep operating costs to a minimum
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of processes which support:
  • Efficient equipment installations (servers, switches, routers and storage hardware)
  • Timely equipment repair and upgrades
  • Rapid troubleshooting of issues with hardware and Linux OS
  • Tracking issues, reporting and managing key metrics
  • Continue the evolution of the site's culture

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of management of technology operations, including datacenter operations.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, hands-on, start up environment
  • Highly experienced in personnel management, staffing, and scheduling for a 24/7 environment
  • Ability to make decisions and work with minimal direction
  • Understanding of data center power and cooling infrastructure
  • Understanding of network and cabling infrastructure
  • Experienced in project management
  • Experienced in vendor management and negotiations
  • Experienced in speaking at public events
  • Experience in providing a positive, service oriented environment
  • Ability to travel 25%
