Consumer Product Marketing Manager, Emerging Verticals

Facebook seeks an experienced Consumer Product Marketing Leader who is passionate about using technology to help people connect with businesses and get things done in their everyday lives. This role is part of Facebook's Local team and will be focused driving consumer marketing for the Food & Drink vertical.With over 65 Million active business Pages, Facebook is one of the largest business platforms in the world. And with hundreds of thousands of restaurants on the platform and millions of people visiting restaurant Pages every day, Facebook is positioned to be an essential place for connecting people with the places they love to eat. This person will work with a cross-functional product team to define and launch solutions to help people find and transact with restaurants on Facebook, and lead the development of a narrative around the unique values Facebook can provide in the food technology space. The ideal candidate for this role will be a consumer-focused leader who can partner cross-functionally to develop consumer focused initiatives that help drive product adoption. They would be responsible for thoughtfully understanding consumer needs, identifying market opportunities through research and analytics, and driving measurable results. They will also be responsible for managing branding and developing a narrative that is anchored in people problems and delivered through compellingly crafted storytelling. Ideally this candidate will also have prior experience with and strong opinions on the food technology competitive landscape, consumer trends, and business models. This is a full-time position located in our Menlo Park office.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own a marketing strategy and plan to achieve consumer product goals, with an emphasis on building a food brand for Facebook and driving usage of our products in this space
  • Define our product's target audiences, core vale props and use cases, and develop a product narrative based on these
  • Leverage quantitative and qualitative insights from research and analysis to influence product strategy and inform go-to-market plans
  • Plan and lead successful marketing campaigns to efficiently drive product awareness and adoption, including creative asset development and media planning: design tests, measure impact and learn through a results-driven mindset
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the broader Facebook ecosystem and competitive landscape to develop strategic product feedback and positioning
  • Lead and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (including Product, Research, PR, Design, engineering stakeholders and more) to deliver world-class product marketing programs

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree
  • 7+ years professional experience in a corporate or startup environment
  • 4+ years working in a Consumer Product Marketing capacity (partnered with product management and/or engineering to represent market requirements and with relevant cross-functional partners to support product launches)
  • Experience partnering with and influencing product & cross-functional teams to identify and bring to market solutions with consumer benefit
  • Experience problem solving and tackling problems with a creative mindset, creating recommendations and action plans for solving those problems
  • Proven track record of grounding all consumer marketing in data - including market/segment sizing, forecasting, and working with analytics to understand efficacy of campaigns after the fact
  • Project management skills, with experience developing and executing marketing strategy
  • Experience thriving within a dynamic, rapidly changing environment
  • Communications skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA
  • Experience with a two-sided marketplace (consumer and business), specifically in the food technology space
  • Successful track record of planning and rolling out large-scale/global marketing campaigns
