Compensation & Benefits Lawyer (Associate General Counsel)

Facebook is seeking a talented attorney to join as an Associate General Counsel, Labor & Employment in our Employment Law Group. The position will report to International Employment Counsel and the attorney will advise the International Compensation and Benefits team on a wide range of employee benefits and employment law-related issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing counseling and support for the International Compensation and Benefits team, including advising and assisting on the design, implementation, and administration of Facebook’s international benefits plans (e.g., pensions, short and long-term disability, life insurance, survivor benefits, voluntary benefits, wellness, etc.)
  • Advise on global pay gap reporting requirements and pay parity analyses projects
  • Advise on compensation and benefits related compliance and audit projects
  • Draft and maintain applicable plan documents, plan amendments, and summary plan descriptions
  • Negotiate and draft contracts with third-party administrators and benefit service providers.
  • Monitor legislation, regulations, case law, and government enforcement activities related to the above substantive legal areas and provide proactive strategic advice to the Employment Law Group and relevant stakeholders.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • J.D. degree (or equivalent), and satisfaction of the applicable requirements to practice law in England and Wales
  • 8+ years of experience in labor, benefits and employment law
  • In-house legal department experience preferred
  • Experience with coordinating and driving to completion large-scale projects
  • Candidate must be a hands-on worker and team-player, practical, results-oriented, and able to partner effectively with cross-functional teams to provide strategic solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Candidates must be flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary to connect with colleagues in the U.S., LATAM, EMEA and across APAC
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel globally.
