We are hiring a Communications Planning Lead, to join the Communications Planning and Media Investment (CPMI) team, part of Facebook's Consumer Marketing organization. The CPMI team are responsible for communications planning, media strategy and execution stewardship for all consumer-facing campaigns across the Facebook family of apps.This role will be responsible for leading media strategy and holistic channel planning for Facebook Company, partnering with leaders across the Facebook Company Marketing Team, Brand Strategy, Insights & Analytics, Creative, Social and Communications & Policy, bringing thought leadership and recommendations across Paid, Social and Earned channels. This person will manage a team, lead media strategy, partner with external media agency to design and execute in-market plans, effectively collaborate with cross-functional partners, and establish operational excellence to maximize impact across the team.

  • Partner with leaders within the Facebook Company Marketing Team to demonstrate thought leadership from a Media Strategy and planning perspective
  • Build strong working relationships and leverage your influence with cross-functional partners across Marketing, Creative, Insights & Analytics, Social and Brand Strategy in order to develop holistic, impactful and integrated work
  • Serve as a credible, expert internally and externally, leading work that incorporates industry innovation, planning and measurement best practices, across digital and traditional channels
  • Oversee and drive the development of strategic media strategies and plans grounded in objectives and audience insight, to deliver innovation and business outcomes. Define the media metrics for success
  • Manage a team of Integrated Communication Planners to deliver the work in a timely and consistent manner
  • Steward your direct team's development and career growth and oversee project alignment
  • Partner with the Head of CPMI and the CPMI lead team on strategic portfolio/team wide initiatives that will up-level and deliver best-in-class outputs across the Org
  • Help to intelligently scale the CPMI team, while establishing operational best practices around plan development, media investment management, systems and tools and streamlined measurement
  • 10+ years of experience developing and leading integrated media strategies, plans and campaign execution, either within an agency or within a client organization
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • Proven track record in building relationships and presenting to executive leadership
  • Experience displaying thought-leadership and building trust and influence for successful collaboration with senior stakeholders within other disciplines
  • Proven experience in measurement, analytics and leveraging audience insights to build compelling and differentiated media strategies
  • Experience leading development and execution of media strategies from inception to launch, across holistic channel mix, communicating their complimentary effect in an integrated plan
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of trends impacting media, measurement and analytics
  • Experience working in ambiguous environments and navigating situations with evolving context
  • Understanding of consumer insights and how to apply them to media strategy, leveraging quantitative and qualitative insights to influence the audience and media strategy and recommendation, and inform tactical planning, execution and optimization
  • Experience leading Communications Planning within a Media Agency or within a client organization
  • Experience working very closely with a Creative Agency and Insights/Analytics teams
  • Experience leading a team in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and working effectively across all levels of management, and cross functional teams
  • Experience working on high visibility consumer and/or tech brands
  • Experience solving for Brand reputation briefs/Brand reinvention briefs
  • Good instincts - experience initiating and driving outcomes independently and collaboratively, while operating in a complex organization
