Antenna Engineer

Facebook is looking for an experienced Antenna Engineer to lead design, implementation and deployment of future novel antenna technologies. The successful candidate will develop specifications, perform evaluation and analysis data on a number of projects for various wireless technologies and high-speed backhaul systems. A strong antenna design background is preferred for this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with hardware industry vendors and partners to identify, develop, test, and deploy the right technology
  • Work closely with the HW engineering and software teams to develop exact specifications, including in-depth performance analysis
  • Work closely with external and internal engineering groups to design and debug system-level issues
  • Inventing new features for future products, develop requirements, and translate these into deployable products
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ph.D. with 3+ years or M.S. with 5+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related technical discipline
  • Knowledge with developments similar to antenna technology including parabolic dish and phased array antennas
  • Design and test experience with one or more of the antenna systems:
    • IEEE 802.11, Bluetooth, GPS, satellite communications, GSM, UMTS, CDMA and LTE and other related 3GPP standards
  • Experience with simulation software packages such as HFSS, CST, TICRA, FEKO
  • Experience with design of RF chain components like diplexers, polarizers and filters
  • Experience with design of beamformer modules including LNA, PA, attenuators and phase shifters
  • Experience deploying wireless backhaul technologies such as base stations, satellites, Wi-Fi access points or TVWS systems
  • Experience with troubleshooting hardware systems, including RF testing and test result preparation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with regulatory and carrier approvals
