Position Summary

As a result of continued global growth, we are establishing an EMEA Product Development Centre in Warsaw. A key hire for this growth will be a Test Engineer 3 (TE) who can provide strong technical test capabilities.

The Test Engineer 3 is responsible for planning and tracking the functional, integration and system testing of the BIG-IP® Application Security Module. This includes creating test plans and automation for large projects based on product documentation and functional specifications. Work will be done creating, documenting, and using software test tools, test automation, and test cases; executing tests; documenting test results; and validating that issues are fixed. The Test Engineer 3 establishes test strategies and plans to validate that our products perform as defined in the requirement documents. The person in this role coordinates project timelines with Test and Development Managers across multiple geographic sites. This role is a champion for product quality within the team and is accountable for an assessment of product readiness and commitments on product delivery schedules.

The person in this role will need to be an excellent communicator and will regularly collaborate with individual contributors, leads and managers in Product Development. TEs build relationships with team members, and accepts ownership to drive features and bugs until a resolution is delivered.

Responsibilities

o System testing of a complex security product.

o Automated testbed operation and maintenance.

o Scripts debugging and writing.

o Analyze test results and escalate issues.

o Implement new product features in lab environment.

o Research and apply new technologies to enhance testbed capabilities.

o Performs additional projects as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

o TCP/IP networking basics – Must.

o Linux administration – Must.

o In-depth understanding of HTTP protocol – Must.

o Basic scripting (Bash/Python/other) – Must.

o Data Center management experience, preferably web server farm – Advantage.

o Understanding of Web security threats – Advantage.

o Experience in QA position is strongly preferred.

o Ability to get down to the nuts and bolts of new technologies.

o Team player with good collaboration and interpersonal skills.

o Adapt to dynamic environment with fast switching tasks.

o Excellent spoken and written English.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a testing environment, preferably in the UNIX environment.
  • BS/BA in Computer Science or related field, or related experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

o Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table. Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate via video conference, telephone, IM, and read printed material.

o Working in an environment where work hours are scheduled to Product Development needs. This role may be required to work outside of core business hours including early morning, late evening, overnight, weekends, and/ or holidays when needed.

o Overseas technical training to Tel Aviv is required as part of the on boarding for this role. Occasional travel to Tel Aviv will be required.

o Occasionally, lifting F5 products and mounting them into racks in a lab environment may be required.
