Position Summary

This position is responsible for creating and maintaining product content for F5's product line. This position will also manage technical content related projects and produce deliverables that can include guides, help, videos, and supplemental text for publication at product release. The Technical Writer III will work independently and as part of a team.

The Technical Communication team works with the software engineers, Subject Matter Experts, UX design team, and other stakeholders to write product documentation that can be included in guides, online help, and other delivery types. This position provides the opportunity to enhance your writing abilities using the latest tools and methods to create and publish customer facing content. Primary Responsibilities

  • Create technical product content
  • Manage projects from design to release ready
  • Interview subject matter experts to gain an understanding of the features/functionality being documented
  • Provide innovation and creativity in producing technical content
  • Work in a team or independently on multiple projects
  • Attend feature requirement meetings and provide writing level of effort
  • Participate in cross functional planning meetings
  • Use department standards, styles, processes, and methods when performing all tasks
  • Provide updates to managers, project partners and team members as needed
  • Be proficient in the use of technical communication tools used to create content
  • Participate in internal and external training programs
  • Organize and facilitate content review process
  • Responsible for upholding F5's Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Experience using industry standard writing and publishing technologies and practices such as XML, Topic Based Authoring, etc
  • Highly-developed communication skills
  • Exceptional writing skills
  • Ability to establish successful relationships across a variety of disciplines
  • Ability to work and meet deadlines independently
  • Ability to work, partner, and brief senior leadership
  • Experience working in a security or networking organization a plus
  • Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table.
  • Job may require working outside normal business hours (evenings and weekends).


Qualifications
  • BA or BS degree in Technical Publications, English, or related degree
  • Three to five years in technical content creation
  • One to three years working in the tech industry
