Sr. Software Engineer – Customer Enablement

Position Summary

This position is responsible for the design, documentation, development, and implementation of complete technical and service enablement content for next generation F5 software components, products, and services. This position requires strong enablement skills including the ability to develop end-to-end complex Layer 4-7 solutions. The candidate for this position must exhibit the ability to design, develop and maintain high-quality code, knowledge of network engineering, knowledge of enterprise architectures, and knowledge of business processes. Manages assigned projects independently and may serve as technical expert for issues associated with specific projects. Implements necessary toolchains and processes to deliver enablement content. Works with Product Marketing Engineers, New Product Introduction Engineering, and the Sales Field to ensure appropriate content is being developed and delivered. May assist Principal, Sr. Principal and Architects to detail certain aspects of product design. Strong documentation and communication skills are required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Independently determines and develops approaches to enablement for assigned projects by identifying, resolving and mitigating risk and communicating to stakeholders
  • Provides technical solutions to detail certain aspects of product design and ensures that resulting design specification fits into technical architectural framework.
  • Performs analysis to define design requirements for modification to existing tools, utilities, system structures, environments and provide technical input into project scope and estimating activities
  • Recommends and maintains technical design methodologies, processes and standards
  • Provides consumability guidance to product development and product management.
  • Assist Engineers and Management with project scope

  • Participates in hiring and onboarding process
  • Conducts presentations internally and externally
  • Responsible for upholding F5's Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge and extensive experience with relevant platform technologies
  • Knowledge of network engineering and enterprise architectures
  • Knowledge of management and enterprise automation solutions
  • 5+ years programming experience in software languages that support F5 programmatic surfaces.
  • Extensive development experience in object oriented programming.
  • Strong analytic / trouble-shooting skills.
  • Able to collaborate and thrive in a fast-paced high-performance environment.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communications.
  • Demonstrated leadership role within project team.
  • Extensive knowledge of product life cycle.
  • Must be a Subject Matter Expert in multiple skill areas.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years' experience in the development of computer software in areas relevant to F5 product line
  • BS/BA in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
