Sr. Salesforce Solution Developer

The Salesforce.com (SFDC) Senior Solution Developer / Architect works within the IT Organization to support the sales organization and sales systems on a global level. This includes extending and supporting SFDC, Oracle CPQ, and integrations within a large highly tailored SFDC instance. They provide technical expertise in evaluating, developing, deploying, monitoring, and supporting systems and procedures that are cost effective and improve work efficiency. Additionally, the SFDC Senior Solution Developer / Architect partners with chief infrastructure and architectural heads to ensure that the application integrates with other internal systems and meets roadmap requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

Salesforce.com / Oracle CPQ Solution Architect (~ 30% of time)

  • Function as SFDC and Oracle CPQ Solution Architect, responsible for overall solution design including all SFDC components, integration and reporting
  • Collaborate with channel sales, direct sales and sales operations teams to continuously improve F5's sales systems tools (order processing, lead distribution, account development, opportunity tracking etc)
  • Plan for an aggressive project schedule and rollout communications that are timely with appropriate documentation to help users get started

Salesforce.com / CPQ Development (~ 60% of time)

  • Hands on design and development of custom solutions on the force.com platform including significant work in Apex, Visual Force and application integration patterns
  • Write comprehensive design specifications (functional specifications and solution/technical design document)
  • Provides design and execution of SFDC configuration changes
  • Ability to independently perform testing, implementation, documentation and updating as it relates to the SFDC software and system administration

IT Development Lead (~ 10% of time)

  • Foster a collaborative, team-based environment, sharing best practices and building lasting relationships
  • Understand key business processes, document process maps, research industry best practices and self-initiate new developments based on findings
  • Contribute to development process improvements. Compare technical solution alternatives, collaborate and demonstrate best alternative
  • Understand individual responsibilities, team specialization(s), assigned project lead and task assignments
  • Responsible for upholding F5's Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Deep knowledge of Sales Cloud with strong development skills including Apex, Visual Force, SOQL, Force.com APIs
  • CPQ experience (Oracle CPQ in particular) is preferred
  • Experience with ETL tools such as Boomi and/or Informatica is preferred
  • Advanced formula field, validation and workflow rules, reporting and dashboards
  • Experience with Mobile design and SF1 preferred
  • Experience leading technical requirements gathering sessions
  • Knowledge of jQuery or other Javascript Libraries
  • Experience leading complex projects involving SFDC
  • Proven ability to design and optimize organization processes and to integrate process across disparate systems
  • Highly process driven and eager to learn
  • Deep knowledge of software design and development in an Agile environment

Qualifications

  • BS/BA or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years development implementing and supporting complex Salesforce instances as a senior developer / architect

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table.
  • Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material.
  • Duties may require being on call periodically or working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends). Duties may require the ability to travel via automobile or airplane, approximately 5% of the time spent traveling.
  • Job may be performed on-site at a customer facility or data center, or in an office environment sitting at a desk or computer table.
