Software Engineer II - BigIQ Orchestration

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for working on a variety of technical problems of moderate scope & complexity. Will be responsible for writing software to automate cloud and network test scenarios through use of APIs, as well as creating virtual machines and collaborating on hypervisor maintenance in the test environment. Designs, codes, tests under general supervision. Collaborate with peers under the direction of technical leads on assigned project teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the design and implementation of major components of products
  • Develop and design test framework features
  • Be a customer advocate
  • Make software more testable
  • Evaluate and design the implementation of current source code
  • Document software designs via functional specifications and other design documents
  • Be quality and test minded in your software approach
  • Collaborate with team members and technical leads
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and experience with network and web technologies
  • 1-2 years programming experience
  • Analytic / trouble-shooting skills
  • Able to collaborate and thrive in a fast-paced high-performance environment
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communications
  • Scope of projects increased. Can implement new functionality in at least two specific skill areas.
  • Working knowledge of Python, Java and JavaScript preferred
  • Working knowledge of automation frameworks (e.g. Junit, Selenium)

Qualifications:

  • 2 to 4 years with B.S OR 0 to 2 years with an M.S in Computer Science in a related field.
